IDEA
Creative packaging can be complex but ultimately rewarding for the salespeople who have the wherewithal, desire and motivation to sell it. To drive that point home, Quicksell and Keepsake decided to target 50 of the biggest decision-makers at the Top 40 companies – people with the titles like national sales manager or vice president of sales. Because these positions tend to be the “stars” of an organization, this naturally led team members to brainstorm a Hollywood theme, which they iterated on to build out a high-end engagement experience, complete with a video that plays when the box opens.
PRODUCT
The custom sales star box was designed for maximum impact and a powerful sensory experience. The box featured an illuminated, personalized star and a popcorn scent inside. A short custom video launched when the box opened, thanks to a built-in sound chip and screen. A top tray included a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and a hangtag.
IN THEIR WORDS
Cliff Quicksell, president/CEO of Cliff Quicksell Associates: “Pricing on custom packaging varies depending on quantity, size and a number of elements. A piece like this, not including the freight, can range from $250 to $400. Don’t be shocked by the price, as there are numerous opportunities out in the promo world with clients and prospects – you need to know where to hunt.”
